Astronaut

An astronaut is a trained professional who travels into space to conduct scientific research, operate spacecraft, and carry out missions related to the exploration of outer space. Astronauts undergo rigorous training in various disciplines, including physical fitness, engineering, and scientific experimentation, as well as survival training for potential emergencies. They typically work for government space agencies, such as NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) or ESA (European Space Agency), or for private aerospace companies. The role of an astronaut may involve missions aboard spacecraft, space stations, or during spacewalks to conduct repairs or experiments outside of a spacecraft. Astronauts contribute significantly to our understanding of space and the effects of space travel on the human body.
